Just check your paperwork. Although 0% deposit, it doesn’t mean there is no cancellation fee. We had a low deposit, but if we cancelled we would have had to pay the full deposit.

Exactly... If it collapses, then you run the risk of other companies prices going up as there is less provision in the market.
If TC survive then there is a possibility they will discount to recover booking numbers, but OP wouldn't benefit there, as they're committed to the current price.

If you swap it becomes irrelevant.

Seems simple to me if no money is as yet at risk, you swap.

I would personally cancel and rebook with TUI, especially if you haven’t paid any deposit. Check the small print though as there might be hidden cancellation chargers. I wouldn’t be comfortable putting my money into a company whose future wasn’t certain.

In my experience very often 0% deposit just means you don’t pay anything upfront but if you were to cancel there would still be costs/fees to pay. It’s just a way to secure a booking without an upfront cost but generally the company still want to recoup some monies should you change your mind or a cancellation be needed.

From the 0% deposit DD terms & conditions on the Thomas Cook website:

Charges will apply if Direct Debit is not set up, or if you (or we) have reason to cancel your booking or your Direct Debit plan.
