"Non-Rider" Tickets
Given the high price of tickets for the major theme parks, it would be great if you could purchase at a much reduced cost a "non rider" ticket for people who just wanted to accompany their families, for example grandparents. I suspect a lot of people like this baulk at the $85 ticket price if all they are doing is strolling through the park in tow with other family members. Rather than loose their custom altogether (they would presumably still buy food, drinks and souvenirs) would it not be better to offer a reduced rate? With electronic ticketing and the technology they have available I don't see how this couldn't be achieved.

TBH I dont think non-riders miss out too much at the parks, certainly not the Disney parks anyway. The vast majority of rides are non-thrill rides. There is only 2-3 rides at each of the parks that a non-rider wouldnt be able to go on, which is a very small percentage considering all the rides/shows/attractions that they can enjoy

probably a good idea in theory, but how would they police it?

Could be a good idea but there are more things to see and do in the parks like shows and parades, fireworks, street shows and the experience of the parks so its not like there is nothing to do if you don't do the rides but i see where you are coming from

I can see the idea in principle but I don't think it's necessary.
My Mum is not a big fan of the thrill rides but she enjoys the smaller rides + the shows + the fireworks + the parades etc. She feels she gets more than her monies worth of the parks

I totally agree!
My poor mother paid for the 2 park multi use ticket for Universal and only went to watch the Terminator show. We went to Busch gardens and my mother didn't have any rides accept on the train. I agree that it would be hard to police though!
