Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it and am feeling more positive about the trip. I just need to be more prepared than I would normally be before a holiday and embrace the technology that’s there to make life easier. Just a quick question, are all the fast passes and food booking etc done through the same Disney app? Are there any other apps I need to download?
Thanks again for all the suggestions! |

All you really need is the Disney app. The fastpasses and mobile ordering are done through there. As I’m offsite I link my virgin no foreign fee credit card to the Disney app before I go. So that when I mobile order it automatically uses that card for me and I don’t have to faff about adding it in the park.
It is a little bit more work than other holidays, you can wing it, but if it’s a once in lifetime thing then always plan to get the most out of it and the dibb is a great place to get all the information to help you make those plans |

Firstly There is always a queue somewhere but thank god i spent weeks on this page fishing for info so if you plan well and know what you want to do then you can avoid the crazy lines.
My hubby said I was obsessed between pages, bloggers, videos etc but even he admitted that planning worked out great for us in the end ! Rarely spent more than 30 mins in any queue - managed Flight of Passage 6 times, SDMT about 4 times, slinky dog just once but i want that impressed with that one ! Yes it was a busy holiday but we blitzed every early morning we could and got loads done. Use the Apps - have your spreadsheet at the ready before dining and Fastpasses are available and be ready to pounce. for flight of passage e.g. i just kept checking for them randomly and people do cancel and passes open so its worth using the app absolutely. I agree with other posters- amazed how many people staring at their phone but don't mobile order Also to say we did same tactic for US/IOA as we had no express passes and it was memorial weekend - up early, hit the rides, back in hotel pool by 1 for afternoon for cocktails (which was great cos of the weekend that was it in there was pool parties all day !). Tired Yes but we packed it all in. Some mornings we managed Gringotts and Minnions twice over before 10am So spreadsheets, planners, Apps at the ready ! |

Just read the replies you've already had and been nodding in agreement to it all. For us, too, the planning, making the most of FP and mobile order made all the difference! Our first visit in 2019 was during a very busy time (spring break/easter) but I can honestly say that we didn't queue all that much. The Disney app isn't perfect (down again today), but when it works it's brilliant. It's an ambitious app, incorporating all these different elements of your visit; I found it quite easy to navigate and it really helped us make the most of our visit.
