Mobile Advice on pavlova

Advice please. I want to serve a pavlova on Boxing Day. Recipe says bake 1 hour then leave in oven to cool for 4 hours.

My problem is obviously that ovens will be in use xmas day and boxing day for other stuff, so unless I get up in middle of the night to make it, I can't see a window of opportunity.

So 2 questions really - can I make it tomorrow for eating Boxing Day and if so, how do I store it? Would obviously just be filling with cream and fruit prior to serving!

Thanks.

Yes, it can be made early and stored in airtight container. This is my favourite desert

Best way to do it is cook it in the late evening and leave it to cool overnight as Delia Smith recommends. This gives a lively, chewy center. DW does this on Christmas Eve for eating the next day as we all find the traditional pudding too heavy after a full meal.

DD and I made one last night and left it in the oven overnight. It's now in an airtight containers. I'll put cream and raspberries on tomorrow as we may eat some tomorrow and the rest Xmas day.

I also do the Delia way of cooking the pavlova in the evening and leave in the switched off oven overnight. Always works out well. Stores in an airtight tin fine for a couple of days before you need to use it.

I'm hoping it's ok as it's the first time I've got round to making one since we had our new kitchen and oven last year. 😳
Out of interest what temperature and how long do others cook pavlova for?

And add mint essence and green food colouring. Cream on top and a broken up mint aero. Yum.
Thats what we will be doing tomorrow

Yep my toffee pavlova will be made tomorrow night and left in the oven to cool
Then kept in the coolest room in the house till I’m ready to add the cream strawberry and bananas (the fruit mix is an Iceland frozen smoothie mix thing looks amazing on the top when the juice drizzle down the sides )
