Day membership, targets, ear and eye protection, rental of the gun(s) and the most expensive part, ammunition.

Rentals are around $15 for the first gun and then $5-10 for each subsequent one. Generic 9mm is running at between 30 and 35 cents a round in stores so I'd expect a price at the range of around 35-45 cents per round.

It is VERY easy to run up a considerable bill if you move on to more uncommon firearms and calibres. Our worst bill was just under $800 in an afternoon with fully-automatic rifles and sub-machine guns

We would also recommend the Shooting Gallery Range on John Young Parkway just off the junction with I-4. We've taken all 3 of our boys there in the past and, according to the website, the minimum age is 10. It's not the most salubrious part of town (it is right opposite the Orange County Prison!, and is surrounded by bail bond stores), but it is also used by police officers and feels very safe.
