Eurotunnel cost

The prices are now out for the date we want in February. The return price would be £130. Is that about right? The only problem with that fare is that it’s non-refundable. The refundable fair is £117 one way! Which is almost as much as the return fare. I’m really unimpressed that there is such a big difference in price between refundable and non-refundable.

Would you wait until nearer the time to book? Will the prices get dearer or is £65 one way about right?

Thanks.

The price sounds reasonable - we paid £170 in clubcard vouchers back in May 2018.

That was standard fare too (non-refundable) but I believe you can amend your travel date for 12 months - would you be likely to reschedule your trip if it couldn’t go ahead? It might be worth checking the T&Cs to see if the possibility of amendment would set your mind at rest about buying non-refundable tickets.

I think I’m going to leave it for a while. By February, we’ll probably be in another lockdown.🙈

Looks like you need some Disney Magic!

February 2022 is (at the time of writing) 10 months away. If we have no problems (within the next 3 weeks) from the recent lifting of restrictions in the UK and if the vaccination programme continues then those of us in the UK should be OK sooner rather than later.

Mainland Europe seems a little behind us but they will get there eventually.

Please note that I'm not an expert and my crystal ball isn't working that well but I do think (and hope) that the UK and mainland Europe will have Covid-19 under control by February 2022.

The return prices vary wildly if you want to go for a day weekend or longer.

We pay about 200 to go for a week day trips can be had for around £60 weekend deals vary between these prices.

Some people book two day trip returns and don't use the return each time. Some say they don't check others have been stopped for this.

I will be booking for December (hopefully) I'm holding out another couple of months because even though it is not refundable they are amendable but must be used within 12 months of booking.
