We did the open top hop on/off bus tour and a boat tour (not speed boat) both booked via groupon. They have some great Miami deals. We also ate at the Hard Rock. Sound like we had a similar trip!

Oooh, I'd have enjoyed the bus tour - one for next time!

We have stayed in south beach x 3 with our 2 sons ( first time they were 12 and 14 , last time they were 18 and 20).

First couple of times we rented an apartment a stones throw from Lincoln road mall , then 2018 we stayed on ocean drive ( Marriott vacation club pulse).
Fab location and room was huge with a beach cart and small kitchen. No pool but direct beach access.
We have done the HOHO bus tour, pirate duck tour and rented bikes.
You don’t need a car ( and car parking is expensive so pick up your rental car when leaving).
We love Miami
