World Traveler Plus with BA

I’m taking my daughter to NY in October for her 16th. Not sure if it worth upgrading to World Traveler plus for the flight.
Any opinions appreciated

We like it as there's more space and a smaller cabin

Depends how much more it is; the seat is more comfy and the cabin quieter but I personally wouldn’t pay a lot more for that. We had a one way upgrade cost of £350 to NYC and the whole return flight cost less than that so we didn’t go for it. I always find flights to NYC pass quite quickly anyway

There currently quoting me £161 per person outbound and £72 per person return, then an additional cost of up to £73 to pre book the seats.
Seems quite excessive, I’ve already paid to reserve the seats on the return journey and have selected the twin seats towards the rear of the plane, so might just do that for the outgoing flight to.

I would pay that much to upgrade. If you have already paid to book seats they let you transfer that to the upgraded cabin - well they let me in 2019!

Remember that on the outward journey £98 of the upgrade price is the additional air passenger duty. I reckon that after taking the APD increase into account your upgrade price is a bargain.

I upgraded our outbound flight in Sept yesterday for £175, which I thought was a good price. We were already WT+ on the return. We find it quieter and more comfortable.

I wouldnt pay to reserve the seats - not for just the 2 of us

We have upgraded our return leg for our Dec trip to nyc, for the simple reason that it was only £60 more than economy. I wouldn’t pay hundreds extra.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I’ll book it for the return flight as will probably be shattered and would appreciate the extra comfort more.
