I have upgraded to World Traveller Plus for my home leg from Vegas on 02 Sept. It cost £360 for 3 adults and a 15 year old, so an average upgrade price of £90 from having simply paid for hold baggage but no seats (whatever name BA give for that upgraded economy). We have never bothered with an upgrade before and are really looking forward to it. It also gives us further bags on the way home in the unlikely event that we have purchased stuff to fill them. (We often travel hand baggage only, so I deem this unlikely). We have not paid extra to select seats.

The out leg LHR to SFO, the cost of the upgrade was imho, too high with the tax etc. For this reason, we opted for 2 exit row seats (£90 each) and the 2 behind (£50 each) instead and thus an average price of £70pp. They are right next to the upstairs air bridge exit and thus, seemed a pretty reasonable deal as we will hopefully be towards the front of the immigration race.

Instead of one checked bag that you’ll have going out , you’ll have two each coming back so it may not be a bad idea to nest your cases if you have plans for shopping .

Go for it, also, the chance of being further upgraded increases as PE cabin is small and in high demand sometimes you can get lucky and end up in club. We love BA WT+, its worth it just for extra luggage allowance!

Think cornishfrogboy mentioned travelling on the upper deck so on an A380 the WTP cabin is bigger with 55 seats so less likelihood of an upgrade to Club - but fingers crossed the upgrade fairy comes along that day.

Sadly at the moment all BA A380's are in storage

Going out is economy and exit row seats on the upper deck of a 380.

Coming home is World traveller plus and in an A350, seats unpurchased... so fingers crossed!

We have just upgraded to WT+ on our return leg for £60pp (bargain!). Six weeks ago they quoted me £506pp, so it shows how prices can quickly change.

The outbound is still a little higher than we'd like to pay so will keep checking on that one.

Have only ever travelled in economy previously so looking forward to it.

Well I eventually got back through to BA today and have upgraded the return flight to World Traveller + and pre booked the seats.
Might enquire closer to the departure date for the outbound flight.
