San Diego tomorrow?
Any suggestions for what to do in San Diego tomorrow? It's currently 6.30pm on Friday and we're thinking about what to do tomorrow. I'm thinking we'll save the zoo for Sunday and try to take it a bit easy tomorrow. Suggestions so far include: old town, balboa Park, shopping, a boat trip.

Hey Liz, it's a good idea to leave the Zoo till Sunday. There is a big Pride parade in Hillcrest tomorrow, so avoid going into that area. The zoo isn't far from Hillcrest, so there could be more than the usual traffic in that area tomorrow. There is also a Padres baseball game at the stadium downtown at 5:40 pm, so that will draw a lot of people downtown in the afternoon and parking prices go up around the city on game days. I personally would avoid heading anywhere near the zoo or downtown tomorrow.
I'm going to suggest going to Old Town. You could catch the Old Town Trolley Tour from there and get a nice overall look at the city, plus it goes over to Coronado too. trolleytours/san-diego The drivers hand out trivia about San Diego and it's a lot of corny fun. You can get off at any number of stops it makes to explore and then catch another trolley to continue. You can also opt to just stay on the trolley for the duration, which is about two hours long. When you get back to Old Town, you can look around there a bit. If you decide not to do the trolley tour, you can check out Old Town and then maybe head up to the Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma (not too far a drive from Old Town) and see the lighthouse museum there and the spectacular views of the ocean. nps.gov/cabr/index.htm Cabrillo doesn't need long to visit, maybe 1-1 1/2 hours, so it can be easily combined with a visit to Old Town. It's a national park, so it does close early at 5 pm- something to keep in mind. There is also Sea World near you in Mission Bay, if that is something you all would be interested in.

We did the Old Town Trolley Tour one day, it takes you round to all the sights and you can get on and off when you like
I drives you over the huge bridge to Coronado, bit windy but good fun, we had a look round Hotel Coronado and had some nice ice cream from their shop there and just wandered round We all enjoyed it and you will see most of the sights |

Another vote for Old Town and the trolleys to go a bit wider.
