Online check-in?

I think I know the answer but need reassurance.
Usually we do online check in 24 hours before flight, there and back.
This year we can do Twilight check in at Manchester and then Disney Springs bag drop on return.
My question is do we still need to do check in 24 hrs before as well as these?
Hope I’ve explained it properly. TIA.

I always do our online check in then do the twilight check in at Gatwick to collect the boarding passes and get rid of the luggage.

That’s exactly what we do. 🙂

It is up to you when you want to check in. You can check in 24 hours before departure. I generally do this just to ensures where we are sitting etc.

If you are checking in at the airport you don hAve to check in online, but you can.

How ever you can check in any time prior to check in closing time which is usually an hour before departure give or take depending on destination

It can be done online, a t the airport, or I think when you drop off your bags at Disney springs if you have not already completed it online.

We also check in online for the return and go to Disney Springs early to collect boarding passes and get rid of the luggage. Then we go to Mk for our last day after an ihop brekkie.

Yes. If you are flying Virgin you can use Disney Springs. Free with VH and $10 per person if VA. Well worth it for another day in the parks or last minute shopping.

You're advised to do OLCI as it confirms to the airline that you are intending to take the flight.

Airlines do oversell flights; tends to be more common with US airlines and those who haven't checked in on-line can be more likely to be bumped from the flight; otherwise, until you turn up at the desk, the airline cant be sure that you're coming and you're therefore lower down their list; there have been some threads where Dibbers who haven't done OLCI have been bumped and advised that they'd be on the flight if they had.

Maybe, not as relevant when you're doing twilight check in but still advisable.

the sooner you check in, the sooner you secure your seats.
not only inside the plane (as in "sit together") but also on the plane (less risk of being bumped, as the previous poster noted)

so, you want to make your online check in first thing when it opens. 24hrs (depends on airline) before each leg (from UK, and from US)
