Would you fly 11 hours for a 5 night stay in L.A?

I took my teenage son to New York this January for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it, we got so much done! He takes his exams next year so I'd love to take him away again before he doesn't need/want to go away with me any more 😥 and he's always wanted to visit L.A. He's a huge Big Bang Theory fan and he loves all things shopping / music or sporty so while I appreciate it's probably not even in a lot of people's top 5 places to visit in California, I think we could fill our time and he'd really enjoy it. We'd have a day shopping at the Grove, a day at Santa Monica and bike to Venice beach and back, a day doing Warners studio tour/walk of fame, a day looking around Beverly Hills, UCLA and Griffith Observatory on the evening and hopefully fit in a sporting event or concert, then there's Universal Studios and down town L.A to explore... and I've only began researching.
My partner however, thinks 11 hours is to far to fly for 5 nights. He would stay at home with our younger son so I wouldn't want to go for any longer plus the cost starts building up. Has anybody done a short trip to California like this? Would you do it again? Would anybody be willing who has been for longer, to go for 5 nights? Or is my partner right and it's a bad idea? Thanks in advance 🙂

It is a long flight but personally I would go for it, we did the flight last year and was there for 3 weeks, if someone told me we had enough money to go for 5 days then i would go for it

I've done less to Vegas which is the same length flight and provided you don't mind the LA traffic when jet lagged as it's all quite spread out then why not .

Yes, life is too short. Get gone! What great memories you will make.

(P.S. I did LA in 4 days and loved it. Will probably go back at some point to do more but no regrets whatsoever)

I went to San Francisco for 3 nights a few years ago... Early starts and early nights so stayed slightly in UK timezone It was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely do the shorter trip again - I was more jet lagged by our 2 week trip to California a couple of years later! Sounds like you have a fabulous itinerary planned and the good news is you'll be shattered and hopefully sleep all the way home

Yes go for it! People go to LV for 4 nights so why not! I wouldn’t do it if the kids were young but teens yes!

Are you thinking before his exams. If so, I wouldn't. They have more than enough to get through and 5 days plus jetlag would be too much of an impact. If after then why not.

Personally I would do longer but no reason you couldn't do that amount of time.

Definitely. Life’s too short. I went to Vegas in May for 24 hours. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Memories last forever, jet lag a few days

I love LA, it’s my second favourite US city after NYC. It is a long flight and you will be tired but why not, they’re only young once.
