Alcatraz

Only just booked our flights /trip so we really didn't expect any availability for Alcatraz tours next week (on the official site.) there are possibilities on other sites if you opt for an additional tour to go along side... tour/ hop on/off bus ? or similar... any suggestions for a last minute tour or good combination would be great... Thanks

You can try for cancellation tickets. You have to queue up at 07:30 (if I remember the time correctly) and each party member has to be present. Not such a hardship if you do that the first morning of arrival as the time difference makes it easier.

These tickets sell at face value.

We went across the bridge as well when we visited SF, we just hired a car to take us across, stop for pictures and then return. I would say it's worth doing if it get's you into Alcatraz as well.
