Yeah another vote for the worlds lightest.

Again I agree they look like shopping Trollies (lol) but so roomy and light weight. They look flimsy but to be honest ours did OK. Seems strog enough and as said above there is a 10yr guarantee. Ours did get a rip in the fabric tho but only a tiny one round the handle, nothing that would compromise the case.

Will never spend too much money on cases as they will only get thrown around by baggage handlers. Seen too many come down the belts in a terrible condition.

Cheap and cheerful is our way and in all fairness they are still in pretty good condition.

Would be a great shame if people spend lots on cases because they 'look' good only to see them appear on the belt looking like they have been 10 rounds with Mike Tyson

I have a Samsonite hard case. (Got it as a reward at work, quite expensive, so wouldn't have bought thro' choice). It has now had over twenty trips and has loads of "Battle scars", but is still very sound and secure. We were waiting for our bags coming off the plane at Corfu and watched a bag fall about 3mtrs from the back of the baggage cart onto the tarmac...we laughed, then noticed it was ours!. On inspection, just another scuff mark nothing else wrong.
If you can afford one, they will last years and years, so quite cheap if you take the length of service it will give. I reckon ours will go for another 5 years at least.

We bought hard Samsonite suitcases 17 years ago for our honeymoon, they were expensive , and have withstood a lot of battering over the years but they're still going strong! That aside they are quite heavy and so this year we bought 2 new Tripp 4 wheeled suitcases, one in bright blue and one in coral pink (DD 15 has her eye on that one). These cases are quite light and have a built in TSA lock and we bought them from Debenhams at a reasonable price, hopefully we will get good wear from them!
