Virgin Credit Card Companion Voucher?

Morning all, can anyone advise on how this works? We have the Virgin Atlantic Credit Card (the one with the fee) and we will soon reach the £10k spend (we opened it about a month ago and paid this year’s holiday on it) so I believe we will qualify for the companion voucher. We will be looking in Sep/Oct to book next year’s flights so I’m wondering if this voucher is a great opportunity, or is it only valid on certain classes of ticket meaning you pay more for the first ticket, negating a lot of the savings? We will be travelling next August, unfortunately tied to term times.

Presuming you are a Red FC member as this affects what you're entitled to.

You have two options:

A premium upgrade. Spend miles on an econ ticket with a free upgrade to PE - no extra miles but pay the extra taxes.

A companion reward ticket. Spend miles for an Econ reward booking and book another person with no additional miles and just pay the taxes.

Your challenge will be to find reward flights availability in school holidays, not impossible but very limited.

Good to know, thanks Jill - we are exact same boat as OP, think am leaning towards the premium upgrade but all depends on availability as you say.
Do you know what the time limit is? Could I use it in 2021 for example?

It now gets added as you hit the spend and is then valid for 24 months from the date of issue. Therefore, you could earn two rewards in that time and use them together

The entry on your FC account is hard to find. Customise the dates in your account activity and look a month either side of when you know you hit the 10K spend.

It should be listed as/similar to:

Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card - Reward Qualification
