Mobile FC Barcelona excursion

We are sailing with Royal Caribbean and considering if we want to do our own excursion to Nou Camp, or whether to do it through then cruise company.

The trip they are offering is 4 hours long, goes to Nou Camp and also central Barcelona. Our concern is that the organised excursion may be a bit rushed.

Has anyone done the excursion, how did you find it?

We did our own tour, using local buses, easy to do and meant we could spend time at each place as we wanted. And cheaper!

We did it on our own and preferred doing it at our own pace. We used taxis rather than local buses but it wasn't expensive. Cant remember exactly how much but the Google maps estimated fare was pretty accurate from memory. We got there about 10am and there was no queue but we did pre book our tickets. We were there about 3 hours including the time spent with DS negotiating a second mortgage so he could buy the kit!

From there we got another taxi to sagrada familia. We didn't go in but I really wanted to see it.

We then walked down to the marina area via La Ramblas which was a lovely walk.

I think the day including taxis cost us just under what the tour would have cost but we got to do it our way without everyone else on the ship tour with us.
