Fly into NYC OR DC then to Florida...anyone Done It?
Hi we are thinking of spending some time in New York and Washington DC before flying down to Florida and then return home to London from there.
This could be done the opposite way around. My idea is fly to either NYC or DC then train in betwenn then one way to any florida airport and home from Miami. Or is it better to get a return from NYC or DC to florida and fly home from one of these Has anyone done this, if so what did you do and is there a more cost effective way? Thanks

We have done exactly that and it worked out great.
We flew into Newark and then stayed 3 nights at the Hilton on Times Sq. The reception was on floor 25 and we stayed on floor 49. The views were awesome. We later caught the AMTRAC from Penn (2 blocks away ) to DC . We stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton which is across the Potomac river and very close to the Pentagon. ($12 taxi from the Railway Stn ). The Doubletree has a rotating restaurant on the top floor with great views. We stayed 3 nights. A Taxi from there to the Lincoln ($5 ) goes right past the Pentagon. When leaving DC, we got a taxi to Dulles ($65) in order to see the amazing Smithsonian Airspace (Space Shuttle, Enola Gay etc etc) before flying on down to MCO. All flights were Delta in a multi city. It was one of our very best USA vacations and my wife, who did not want to go to DC, conceded that she preferred it to NY. Edited at 09:52 PM. |

We are looking into flying into somewhere before Orlando on our summer trip next year. We have booked a villa at the end of August and Beach Club with free dining before that and working backwards so very flexible! I think if we do it, it will be flying into New York for a few days before flying onto Orlando.

We did it the opposite way and flew Orlando to La Guardia then home from there. Only did it this way as we wanted to go to the US Open but had to be back for school a few days later. First time the kids had been to Ny, they loved it.

Yes. We flew into JFK, got the train to Washington and then flew from Ronald Reagan Airport to Orlando with Jet Blue.

We’re just back from our multi city trip. Flew Dublin to JFK, 3 nights in NYC then flew to New Orleans and spent 3 nights there. Then we drove to Orlando and stayed 1 night Mobile and 1 night in Apalachicola on the way down, amazing drive down the coast before heading in land to Orlando. Flew back from Orlando to Dublin 😀. Well worth it, amazing places all of them but loved New Orleans !
Happy planning ✈️ |

Sounds Fab. We love NOLA. Visited in 2017 and back for a third time later this year. It’s stolen our hearts just a bit !

We have done
Lhr - Washington Washington Reagan - Orlando Virgin and JetBlue Orlando - Ny -Lhr .. we always go in winter though so we do have potential weather issues Also LHR - Toronto - Orlando with air canada and sunwing ( Canadian company ) Lgw - fort myers - Ottawa - Tampa - lgw with BA & Air Canada Lhr - Bos - fort myers - Bos - LHR - virgin & American Airlines Lhr - Bos -Portland - fort myers -Bos - lhr - Virgin & American Airlines All are good and I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way to go about it unless weather could be a deciding factor . |
