I thought the train station was shut, if not that's where we'll be watching them from tonight, we watched Wishes from there and its a great spot

No it's open but the trains aren't running. It's a great spot to watch from!

It's not as good as being close up and that's the oky negative of being up there. You still get the general gist of it and can see a lot of the projection but obviously not in as much detail. For us the benefits of the elevated position, view of all main street, less crowds and a swift exit at the end outweighed the one negative of not seeing every projection close up but everyone is different.

We've always tried to be in main street for MK fireworks , also the bridge by tomorrow land is go stop but not sure about the projections as we did this for wishes.
In Epcot we stay by UK but if you can get a dinner booked for either rose and crown or use the lounge/ bar they let you in a private viewing area which is great or at they did.
This trip we've booked spice road table as that's a great place to see them too ☺

Think I would be prepared to forego the close up of projections for a quick exit, especially with a 7 year old! Thanks for the tip 👍

As above great spot for the plus of escaping early , we did this as a seconding viewing during our hols, we enjoyed the space next to the purple wall on left hand side going into Tomorrowland. Didn’t need to get there mega early, kids could sit on a wall and use behind. It’s next to the restaurant. It’s on an angle but we thought it was better than having to camp out for a long period for people to only stand up as it starts.

That was our thoughts, a 7 and 4 year old and no buggy! No way we were fighting those crowds to get out!

Total newbie - what exactly are the crowds like when leaving these shows? I'd like to see Illuminations, River of Light and Happily.

The best thing to do if you can Is stay back for a bit the buses keep running for ages after so there is no need to all rush out, but if you need to then go through the shops and back area as you can walk right the way for Casey corner to near the entrance, with Epcot go out the gateway end HS and AK only one way out but by hanging behind even 15 mins makes such a difference to the crowds leaving😆
