Mobile Will society ever be the same?

After reading a thread on here about short shorts its got me thinking about the UK as a whole.

Do you think society has broken down irreversibly or will class and dressing up come back in style?

Personally for me my husband still pays for everything. We certainly don't toilet or get dressed/ready in front of each other. my husband still pulls out a chair for me and aĺl reservations are in his name.

To name a few examples.

Is anyone on the Dibb old school? Do you miss the old days where people made a effort and spoke properly?

Does anyone on the Dibb think society has broken down irreversibly?

Is anyone on the Dibb happy and content with non old school ways?

I don't believe it has to be one way or the other, I believe there is room in this world for many variations of lifestyle, and no, I don't think that society has broken down irreversibly. I also don't think "class and dressing up" necessarily have much to do with society breaking down. I think people respecting each other has far more to do with a cohesive society.

I agree, things that most people would find offensive now is classed as mainstream or “art”

I 100% agree it's deff not one way or another and all variations are in my opinion 200% accepted and as it should be. Maybe I worded it wrong... of course the way we dress ect doesn't directly in its self break down society but it certainly changes it. Yes of course I am all for people respecting each other but sorry its prob my fault.

Taking out all the big stuff... do you miss dressing up/the etiquette and class of the days gone by?

I am. I'm happily married, but unlike old school ways, I have a career whereas my husband has a job and I am the higher earner. Sometimes he pays for things, sometimes I pay. That said, he would defend me to the last, he holds doors open for me, lets me go first through doorways, lifts/carries things if they're heavy and does the man jobs around the house. As for dressing up, I spend my days in suits, often fitted dresses and skirts, as I like to look nice and professional for work. But I absolutely love being able to wear my jeans or leggings and casual dresses at the weekend.

Society has changed, but it isn't all regression, there has been real progress too, especially for women and minorities, though room remains for improvement.

I differentiate between class and style.

My view on the current society is it’s gone to hell in a hand cart. Loads of people don’t give a toss. The World has become full of entitled people.

Mmm. Time for a lie down now

Or is it opening minds and educating?

Or is it classless?

Not sure how my husband could pay for everything when I earn more than him.

If people want to wear short shorts that is their choice. I'm not sure what bearing it has on society.
