Best rooms in port Orleans riverside?

Glad you all seem to want Magnolia Bend, more chance of me getting our request we absolutely love Alligator Bayou and went in 2016 and got a lovely corner room in AB but was dreading getting a room in Magnolia Bend. We got a corner room top floor overlooking the car park but once in the room didn't even notice that. We are hoping for the same this year - all I am requesting is again top floor corner room in Alligator Bayou.

I doubt that you could request a specific room, that particular room was a corner room, hence the 2 windows. My request was for a Magnolia Bend Room, high floor and that's what I got. Touring Plans do have a room finder which will give you the view from each room. They also do a room request service (But you have to be subscriber to use that) but there are mixed reports as whether it works or not.

If you want two windows just ask for a corner room they have them in both Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. A specific room would be very difficult to accommodate. List them in priority of what you want, so for us first and foremost, Alligator Bayou, then an upper floor, then buildings and we listed 4 buildings. Being in a garden view room gives you more choice of rooms, it is why we book it.

But I am with Rincelex, we love Alligator Bayou. Magnolia has no real shade so you are walking in the sun which for us was not great.

Alligator Bayou has lots of lush greenery so a walk to the food court is over little bridges along paths that meander between the buildings under a canopy of trees. Lots of dappled shade and away from the tooting boats that go past Parterre and Oak of Magnolia Bend.

Yes you can request a particular room number.

Request room number and then say if not this room a similar room in this area. We got our room request a few years ago

You can fax the resort and how to ask for what you want can be found here on portorleans.org site. portorleans/room-requests.php

It depends do you want to be close to transport, food court, away from the centre? We stay in AB building 37. It is a 6 minute walk from the room on the upper floor to the food court, about 1 1/2 mins to transport. It is what we like.

The breakdown of rooms is this
Alligator Bayou has 1024 rooms 64 in each building
128 standard
495 garden view
204 preferred
54 king
98 pool view
45 river view

Hence why we book garden view as we are much more likely to get what we want.

Magnolia Bend also has 1024 but 256 rooms in each building
131 standard
273 garden view
no preferred
40 king
41 pool view
27 river view

136 royal room standard
263 royal room garden
36 royal room pool view
77 royal room river view

I hope that helps anybody who is interested. It has to be downloaded from the portorleans website to get the specifics for AB and MB. The main page shows them totalled so 259 standard view rooms.

Also. When you check in they will show you where your room is and what level etc. If not happy tell them at the desk. That’s what I did In May. I sent in a request but didn’t get anything like what I wanted so asked at the time and got what I wanted

I requested via chat on MDE app about 5 days before travelling. Here now In a room that I requested 😁. Worked perfectly.
