Back earlier than expected... our dog fell ill.

Well, we had a wonderful time in Italy and were supposed to be coming home next Thursday. However, a few days ago our little dog was choking and coughing up blood, she was taken to the vet by our friend who was looking after her and then due to still more blood coming taken to the local vet hospital. She was doing better but then got transferred to the vet again, put on a drip, had an ultra sound all which proved nothing.
Well our friend took her home, they said she could have food, which she got, I thought this wasn't wise as she had an anaesthic. Well within minutes she brought up the food and this time the blood was dark red. Now she didn't know if this was the residue but it was the last time she did this.
Our lovely friend kept saying don't cancel your holiday, there is nothing you can do that I cant, but all we were doing was worrying, so after our evening meal that night, we got them to arrange an emergency flight home and here we are.

She is a little better, still coughing a little but managing to keep food down. The Vets think there could be an ulcer but the ultra sound showed nothing. In my opinion, she has eaten something. She is always picking stuff up, like a human hoover and perhaps it was poisoned. Well the poor little mite looks too weary, but at least we are back.

Feel so sorry for my wonderful husband, he has been through so much and is being so fantastic about it all, but its more expense and he really did need a rest. Plus he adores Italy so much.

The Air hostess dropped a load of water over me on the flight back, so I have done something wrong somewhere.

Going to have a nice meal tonight and all cuddle up.

You couldn't make it up, could you.

xx

I am so sorry to hear that your holiday was cut short, but obviously you wanted to be with your poorly baby.

I hope you get some positive news soon and can then plan a return trip in the near future

Oh what a shame - hope your dog gets better soon. Hopefully when your dog is fully recovered you’ll be able to take a holiday to make up for the loss of this one.

So very sorry to hear that - as you say, you couldn’t of relaxed on holiday with that news - hopefully you can have a nice few days at home with your doggie instead and that she is right as rain really soon xx
