Mobile Child’s flight pack

What would you pack for the flight? I don’t wanna take too much stuff on the plane but want things to keep the kids happy.

Kids are 3 & 4

IFE will cover most of it but I’d take snacks, water, magazines, books, water magic books, little tat presents from £land eg hot wheels, little ponies etc for when they get bored! Our 3 year olds were literally plugged into the IFE for 9 hours, it was the 18 month olds who wanted to go up and down stairs the entire flight!

I see people constantly packing too much stuff.

My kids are 13 and 8 but ive travelled with them since they were babies.

My rules are - Can they carry their own bags? Because if its too heavy it'll be an extra bag for you to carry!

My kids have always been happy with the In Flight Entertainment so pack some earphones for them to use.

I let them choose a magazine at the airport.

Colouring / activity book with pens/pencils from the pound shop (not bothered if we loose them)

And their iPads.

At the ages they are now they usually just take earphones, magazines and their iPads.

Tablet with shows downloaded, ear phones with wires so they can plug into the IFE.

Snacks, snacks and more snacks.

I definitely fell in to the category of packing way too much last year! My kids ended up using I Pads, watching films and eating snacks. They really didn’t need all the things I packed. My youngest was 5 and did enjoy playing with his toy cars for a bit and doing a bit of colouring but that’s it. Will be packing lighter this year!

I always over pack. Just used and needed own headphones, iPads, ife, snacks and water bottle. A writing book and pen and sticker/activity book. Also had favourite cuddly in their bag.
I went a bit crazy and really over packed.
