The thing is you NEVER point a gun at another person, if the gun is real, blanks or live ammunition it should never be pointed directly at a person.

I'm going to guess the gun was pointed at the camera, and the director was stood behind the camerawoman. Such a terrible situation.

A union released a very misleading statement that there was a "live round" in the gun. This has been picked up without the explanation that a blank is a "live round" because it does contain gunpowder.

It's just been on the news that Alec was told that the gun was safe and it wasn't the armourer that handed him the gun and it should've been

Per recent reports there may have been earlier safety issues on set. He may turn out to be more liable as a producer than as the one who actually pulled the trigger.
