Flew on NYE once, from Miami to Heathrow, Absolutely nothing mentioned on board. It had gone midnight in the UK before we boarded. We had flown out on Christmas eve I think we did have Turkey as an option for the meal.

flying on Boxing day this year back to Miami for New year in Key West.

They did absolutely nothing, not even a happy new year, no pilot announcement, no auld lang syne. In truth, I was very disappointed
Our last flight home from Florida was NYE 2019.

Which New Year do you celebrate on a transatlantic flight?

UK: we were pushing back/taxi-ing/taking off at that time; I’m sure the pilot/crew were rather busy and I would rather they concentrate on that than making Happy New Year announcements.
US: My bed was down and I was fast asleep; would have been annoyed to be woken by announcements/singing.

That’s me though; others may feel differently.

we have flown out on Christmas day, possibly with Virgin ( flown with that many airlines its difficult to remember). I do remember that the lady of check in was miserable and complaining about people travelling on Christmas day and she was going to miss her Christmas dinner. However the flight crew were great, they wore badges and hats and offered mince pies and Christmas cake to anyone who wanted it. I did find it was a very enjoyable experienced as everyone seemed really happy to be aboard.

Our last flight home was with Virgin, Christmas Eve 2019. I don’t remember any festive meal or anything but the crew all had Christmas jumpers and tinsel on etc. It was a very relaxed flight everyone in good moods etc. I think the crew were all looking forward to be going home for Christmas. Very quiet flight, we had a row of 3 each to ourselves in economy. It felt special landing on Christmas Day morning wishing the crew a very happy Christmas as we left the plane

We flew to Orlando with virgin on Christmas Eve 2018. Very Christmassy, Christmas dinner, little Christmas treats as well.
