Renting DVC
We are looking at renting DVC points for some of the Disney part of our trip next year. I know on site has lost a lot of it's perks but what is the advantage to booking DVC than staying off site? Do we get the extra hour in the evening etc?

You get an extra hour at certain parks on certain days. It’s deluxe only so will be quiet. You can enter any park 30 mins early also.
Renting DVC is much cheaper than paying Disney. In my opinion you also get better units with mini kitchen in studios, free laundry room and full kitchens in 1 beds as well as laundry within in the 1 beds and a living room. You also get free parking with DVC. This has just gone up to $35 a day at Disneyland. Assuming WDW will soon follow, this would save another $500 on the average 14 day holiday. I suggest fully researching DVC before renting so you know the rules on booking dates etc.

Thanks for this. Yes I was looking at the rooms and like the idea of a mini kitchen and laundry facilities.
We like the look of OKW but also BWV for a few nights for Epcot/HS and maybe BLT for MK. So many fab resorts to choose from. We were going to stay at one of the 6 Disney Springs off site hotels that offer the Disney perks but they aren't offering any at the moment. |

Just a small correction, it's actually two hours in the evenings. Although currently only Epcot on Mondays and MK on Wednesdays, so make sure you line up which days you'd be staying for to actually get the benefit.
The partner hotels still have all perks other than the evening hours, other than a reduced shuttle offering. There's just a limited amount of perks available now. Edited at 10:10 AM. |

Yes they do, it's possible that they haven't updated their websites yet but they're listed in the list of hotels available.
