I think the police are going to be at Cheshire Oaks right up until Xmas, maybe be some intel as most markets will be having armed police. Cheshire Oaks has armed police every year.

Absolutely chilling.

I went to the local Remembrance service a 10 minute walk from my house on Sunday.

I did scan the surrounding area for anything unusual - well done to the cabbie for being super observant and making a life saving call. Incredible.

According to some newspaper reports a guy asked to be taken to the remembrance service at Liverpool Cathedral. They couldn't get there as roads were closed so he asked to be taken to the city centre instead. As they were driving past the women's hospital he asked the driver to drop him in there instead. The driver was suspicious and noticed something with lights on clipped to his clothing. As he pulled into the entrance the driver leapt out of the car and locked the doors just as the device exploded. As I say, this is just what has been reported on newspaper sites. There is an incredibly chilling cctv video on one newspaper site. Utterly horrifying what could have happened had he got in the hospital. I wish the taxi driver all best and hope he recovers soon.

I'm not sure anyone knows for certain currently, but the suggestion is...

- Cabbie picked up a fare wanting to go to the Liverpool remembrance service.

- Cabbie either went to the hospital or passenger asked to go to the hospital as local traffic meant they were not going to get to the remembrance service on time.

- Cabbie noticed the passenger had something dodgy looking, and locked his passenger in the back of the car.

- As the taxi pulled into the hospital, it exploded, but the cabbie was able to escape and suffered only minor injuries.

- The passenger died.

Fabulous hospital for women in the area. Everyone has a connection with the place thru child birth or illness. My wife mum aunties friends have all been there.
The staff are fantastic.
Hope they are feeling safe today.
