Avis preffered app

Hi guys just got avis to put my ba flydrive booking on my preffered account and can see it on my app now, what benefits can I get off of this like skipping the counter, can I select my car on the app on the day?

Pretty much just skip the queue and the option to swap for a car in the “swap lane” (I think that’s what it’s called)

If this is the first time you’ve used it though, I believe you still have to queue.

If this is your first time with Avis you will have to go to the counter in the garage first. The last time I used the US Avis app I could see the car that I was collecting when I landed and had the choice to change it if I wanted to. I was happy with the car so didn't change it.

thanks for the replies, I had the app when we went in 2019 but can't remember If I used it as I seen my name as we walked into the garage on the board!
would be good to see the car though as we get off the plane and check the app!

You queue at the preferred booth in the Garage though right?

I was seriously considering taking a short term avis rental at home for a weekened, just to get my name on the board for next year, but not sure that would work

I’ve had an avis preferred account for years and multiple visits and my name always appears as “go to the desk” as the app never recognises my credit card even though I can see it is saved.

Yup, in the garage. We made the mistake of queuing in the terminal, it took forever but they did give us a much better car than we’d paid for, so I guess that was a win.
