Will collinson test be ok?

We have just booked at East Midlands airport for our pre Xmas test ready to fly on Xmas day but my brother in law just told me that they cannot use collinsons as they are not an FDA approved provider and as they are going on a cruise for part of the trip that it wouldn’t be accepted. It got me panicking a bit I must admit! Has anyone else used them before their USA flight?

Don't listen to him. Collinson are a uk Government approved provider and the FDA have said a UK approved company is fine. Plenty of people on here have used them and flown out. If someone say from America was flying to somewhere that required a test, then it would be an FDA approved test. Nothing to do with us really.

My stepdad is American and has just returned to the US for a visit for Thanksgiving. PCR test done with Collinson at Manchester airport; no issues whatsoever xx

He may have gotten his info from the cruise line which could be using US terminology, therefore FDA. But it's irrelevant for air travel. If he mentions again, here is the official line from CDC to quote back...

"The test used must be authorized for use by the relevant national authority for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in the country where the test is administered."

Pretty sure that's where Mick and Joan got their tests done (it was definitely East Midlands airport, not sure if they have more than one testing site though) and they're in Florida now, so no problems being accepted for entry.

Edited at 09:04 PM.

Thanks…they have Collinson and Randox at EMA. We used Randox when we went to Canada last month but we can’t get a late appt for an antigen test with them so booked with Collinson instead.

Collinson Antigen test done at Manchester Airport last Thursday... brilliant service. We even waited the 20 minutes so we could get our certificates printed off. That was at the walk through based in the railway station.

Hey @Danisleigh - did you end up using Collinson at EMA? We’re thinking of using them before driving down to London. Would rather know we can fly or not before we make the drive! 😹

As others have said, Collinson is fine.
