we have done this for years. Me insure this year with my ncb. OH insures next year with OH NCB and declares me as main driver. year after back to me with my NCB.

as noted above most insurance companies will accept 2 year old NCB - a few accept 3 years old

But note they can be VERY strict on the 2 years so it mght be worth renewing at 364 days !

My 92 year old [fit as a butchers dog] mother has been a named driver on dad's various policies for 50+ years, when he passed last year the insurer gave her their maximum no claims bonus.

Just on the phone with Admiral (renewal time) and they are 3 years.
