Oh goodness! That’s a stress you don’t need. Delays happen though and the best thing I can suggest if you can afford it is to pile it all up somewhere and go out for dinner as a family 🥰

Thankyou! We contemplated boarding the whole thing as we hated the surround so much, and it took up so much of the room. I love red though, and I like a mantelpiece for all my treasures (crap) so just seemed the right thing to do.
We have kept as much as we could. I love the floorboards downstairs and we’re having the old 1920’s tiles we found restored before Christmas. We have kept the little bedroom fireplaces, and I would have loved the floorboards upstairs painting but they were too broken.
I have told D though that when the carpet on the stairs gets grubby, (which it will first as the dog uses the bottom stairs waiting for me) then we’ll restore the stair case and just cap the carpet on the landing.

How is your shower room coming on? I feel like you need a trip north. I have 2 donkeys you can meet and we’re near a lot of good pubs 😂
