Track now complete for Disney World's new TRON coaster

Disney World is saying that the TRON coaster will be open in time for the Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary in 2021.

Great news about the track.

Haven't Disney always said that the Tron coaster would open before the 50th Anniversary?

It does make you wonder why it'll take another 22 months to get the rest of the ride done; Seaworld can open a rollercoaster from nothing in less time that that.

Ice breaker is going to have very little theming compared to say the Tron or Jurassic Park rollercoaster so it does allow a much quicker turnaround.

I imagine they would have had options to deliver earlier but at additional cost. As you say, other parks can build coasters and have them opened in less than 8 months
