So I was going to post exactly the same thing! Our families luck is it always opens the day after we leave - as did Pandora! We've given up trying to anticipate rides as it never seems to work out properly!

I heard spring for an opening for the runaway train, via a you tube blogger. That is also on the website.

When in spring I do not know.

I'm hoping for an early spring opening, but if we just miss it then it's an excuse to go back - so it's a win win situation

I remember going to Universal the year WWHP was opening and was very excited to be going in late May when it was due to open in "Spring" as I was certain that it'd be open when we went, but no. Opened in June. Since when has June been Spring? (OK, technically it might be, but to me Spring is April!)

Going next May again, so I'm taking all these "Spring" openings with a giant pinch of salt and not expecting anything!

It depends on whether you are talking about the Meteorological or Astronomical seasons (or another version). Disney - and America in general, I think - tends to follow the astronomical season dates. In the astronomical version, Spring starts at the vernal equinox (around 20th March) and ends at the summer solstice (around 21st June).

So an opening date of "Spring" can mean any time before the 21st June 2020.

Based on what dx4100 said earlier, it sounds like it will open in June.
