It looks fantastic even on video. Bit concerned though you got in the boarding group at 7am presumably and didn’t get on until after 3. I hear if you come out, it kicks you out of the queue? I’ll be in at 7 no probs, but I usually come home at lunchtime when in that early and go back later.
I also foresee it making HWS extra busy as people hang around all day waiting to get in?

No, you can leave and once your boarding group is called you have two hours to return. At about noon, we decided to head to Disney Springs for a while. Whilst there our group was called. No issues at all.
It must be said though that the passes had gone before 8am. It was busy, but no more than usual, Toy Story land drives a lot of traffic |

You have to be in the park to get a boarding pass, best advice I have is if you want to ride it, get there as early as possible.

Thanks for the info Kev (and others) there has been some misinformation about that aspect put out then- saying it cancelled if you left the park.
This is great then- no bother, as we are always in early, will leave at usual time and go back. I am keeping my finger's crossed, I am now not feeling it is going to be as hopeless to get on it as when I first posted, but I will keep realistic expectations. Is it the case that as soon as you scan in, you get on MDE and book it as soon as through the gate?

You will get on the ride if you put the effort in and get there as soon as you can. As early as possible.
It’s in no way hopeless. This is far fairer than FastPass as this doesn’t discriminate between those who stay on site and those that don’t. Everyone has to put effort in. Yeah, just enter the park. Use the app or a customer experience member and then you can leave. They were actually advising people leave the park for a while yesterday. |

Thanks Kev. We arrive on 20th but won't be going in the parks until 22nd (we are swapping the ticket for a pass, and it has to also hit the dates we are there just before next Christmas 2020 so we are having our shopping day as our first day), but on the 22nd I will be in HWS as soon as it opens (we are at Beach Club so walking).
