Painting at height

Hi all

This is probably a very stupid question but both me and DH are a bit hopeless at DIY so please don’t laugh too much!

How do you reach super high areas that are above a stairway? We have one of those extended roller things but it won’t reach and even if it did no idea how to do the cutting in!

I have no idea how the previous occupants did it (not forgetting 100s of floral stencils right at the top 😂 )

The safest and easiest way is to hire a stair access platform.

Yes we used extendable ladders that fold and lock into position. Something like this

We had to have stairway scaffolding to put a light fitting in, so whilst that was up, we painted the ceiling and the tops of the walls too.
Our hallway has a half landing, so it’s 1.5 flights to the ceiling from there.
