University - class of 2021

Dd is ready to press the button after 17th Dec... A level results day for those who sat the exams after the "teacher grading" this year. (she just sat chemistry to try and get the grade she wants). She wants to go to Bath. Very pretty, not too far away but VERY pricey...

Well my daughter has decided not to apply for any unis next year

She was getting incredibly worked up as she is unsure what course she wants to do, obviously hasn’t been able to go and look at any universities and application deadlines are looming

She will take a year out and apply next year

She was worried about applying for uni after she had left school so has spoken to head of year and they have said she can pop back in and they will help her with her application this time next year

She is much happier now

My dd has had her 5th and final offer through this morning.

So now she has some decisions to make!

My ds is still waiting to hear from 2 places, and has 3 offers.

Just over a week ago DS hadn’t finished his personal statement . After a bit of negotiation / bribery he swung into action . His application was sent on Friday and he got his first offer for Leeds yesterday .

My daughter has not sent hers off yet but is hoping to next week. Definitely this side if Christmas.

My daughters was submitted yesterday, she has received emails saying from her choices saying they have received her application.

Fingers crossed we receive good emails back.

How long does it usually take before you hear back, one of her friends has received a rejection from one of his choices, although he wants to do medicine so I suppose that can be expected as I suspect you don’t get offers from them all for medicine. This surprised her a little bit

DS has decided he doesn’t want to take a gap year and is going to apply for 2021. So he’s finally done his personal statement and application, which was like pulling teeth, and we are just waiting for school to do his reference. It’s been really hard for him to get excited about to be honest, with no open days, there has been very little excitement and I feel like he has really missed out on part of the experience. Hopefully he’ll get a chance for post application visits.
