I like watching the red bull soap box races in TV to recapture my youth. But they are way fancier than anything I had.

Yes indeed, me, my brother and the other local kids in our cul de sac, best thing was it was at the bottom of a hill... weeeeeeee all the way down. Often got told off for ‘dodging’ a random car or oldie neighbours... weren’t the lates 70s/early 80s great fun 👍

Oh my goodness yes. I was never allowed at the front of the bogie, I had to be the brakes at the back. Managed to wear out the soles of a pair of shoes in an afternoon. Mum was furious.

Them were the days. We tried to resurrect our youth by organising a go cart comp for charity with a pub crawl pushing and driving said carts. We made a Starship Enterprise with flashing lights, sirens and various buzzes. Damn thing was so heavy we were knackered by the end, and erm a little tipsy 😄

We called them Billie carts in our area. Fine till you went down hill as no brakes. I wore many a pair of shoes out!

Yes we did all along the seawall in Kent. Couple of slopes to go down. No elf and safety in those days.
