Limiting risk - booking a package

We have had our Business class flights with Aer Lingus refunded. In the next few weeks we will be looking to book flights for next year. We would like to book some form of package with some accommodation for our first night before using Clubcard vouchers for HRH and then on to Disney or Swan /Dolphin (currently have a beach club booking but with out DDP it is too expensive). With a package we are just risking a deposit. How would I find a travel agent to help us with this if I find my flights e.g using the ITA matrix? Or can I book a package with any airlines?

Thank you in advance.

You can book this with BA, deposit only, deposit refunded as voucher to be used by 2022 (don't know exact date). BA prices are looking good for a lot of dates next year.

While I collect Avios and therefore use BA/AA/Aer Lingus I'm also not trying to promote them but I'm not aware of any other airline offering deposit only so quite a few of us have used them for next year.

Any journey booked under the BA voucher scheme must be completed by 30 April 2022.

We have booked BA flights + 6 nights at Cabana Bay paying just the deposit. As mentioned this will be protected and we are quite happy that we would potentially end up with a voucher that needs to be used by Easter 2022.
Disney Accommodation I booked directly through WDW (called the American number rather than UK). Again, deposit only and will get everything back (even the deposit) if things go wrong. Also, in the unlikely event dining plan becomes available we have the option to add this (I confirmed with Disney).
I called the WDW line because we had 2 free nights to redeem after a mishap on last years holiday. Booked 2 free nights at Poly and the other 12 nights at CBR the rate was cheaper through them than it was with UK Disney. :-).
The BA flight option looks to be the best for us personally for next year but other routes / dates may differ. Also, I got a refund immediately for this years booking from BA which gives me more confidence than other airlines whom I have had problems with, however, again this is just my experience.
Hope you get it sorted, although theres still so much uncertainty its lovely to have something to look forward to and plan!

We had booked a flydrive through BA for flights from Gatwick next July as the Heathrow flights were about 2k of a difference but yesterday changed these to flights from Inverness via Heathrow And it was actually cheaper and there was no fee to change. They did say I could get a voucher if I want to cancel. So I would definitely recommend BA

I've booked flights and airport hotel next May with BA, paying a deposit with the balance due 3 weeks before I'm due to go. I've booked 7 nights at Universal Sapphire Falls direct with Universal. The deposit was 1 night's room cost and I'll pay the balance when I'm there. I can cancel with a refund of the deposit 5 days prior to arrival. I then have 5 nights at Disney Polynesian which are free due to problems I had when I stayed at Beach Club last year. Flights with BA was a no brainer as I booked flights with them for this year's trip and received a refund 3 days after they said the flights were cancelled.

How are you standing with travel insurance? We have insurance with our bank account. But for anything booked after 18th of March it doesnt include covid. So would you get separate covid cover or totally new insurance? Or risk it with the existing agreement? I would love to book something, but am too nervous as eveything keeps changing so frequently.

This is the same as us,we have insurance with Halifax but am concerned to book any flights for next year because insurance wont cover Covid.

We are booking through BA and doing a fly drive so that it’s a package and comes with the same protections. We will be booking on Wednesday. If we don’t get to go next year we will go the following year, nothing to lose really

Only thing our travel insurance won’t cover us for is cancellation due to covid. If we get ill over there with Covid our medical expenses will be covered. We have booked our Disney tickets with flex plus insurance so if we don’t go we will get all our money back, villa is fully refundable until 4 weeks before, if we can’t go then we will get a voucher for our flights to be used up until end 2022.
