Mobile Can I drive on the heads of the valleys road through Caerphilly without stopping ?

Anybody know?
You can't drive into or out of Caerphilly county borough council.due to localised lockdown. But can I drive through it without stopping.

Route planners still show I can but may not be up to speed.

Sorry if this in the right place

I'm not familiar with the area but the advice is do not enter if you live outside of the area.

I wouldn suggest driving round.

They are never going to get information on a route planner.

Where are you going from and to? We often use the Heads of the Valley road when driving to Carms\Pembs and may. Be able to advise. I’m sure you’d be ok

Would be doing Abergavenny to pontypridd. Ideally would go use the HOV to Merthyr, but given we aren't allowed into Caerphilly county boundaries didn't know if this included driving right round. It's a bit of a trek to go up via Brecon or down via the M4...

I would use A465 to Merthyr and A470 to Pontypridd xx

This was what I was thinking. Just don't want to be stopped. Don't have time to be turned around or sent via Brecon!

Not brave enough to go cross country straight through CBC. so thought the A465 might be less likely to be stopped...

Agree. This is one of those occasions where common sense kicks in ... unless you are on your way To an illegal rave of course 😉

Last week we dropped DD off at Manchester airport and I didn’t want to leave too quickly in case there was a problem so we found ourselves entering Trafford ... it didn’t even occur to me that we shouldn’t be! Oops! Luckily we only drove through 🙂

I honestly don’t know where Caerphilly County boundaries start and end. Even though I’m fairly local to Caerphilly (within 20 miles but not in Caerphilly county), I had no idea the HOV Road was in the lockdown area. I think I need to check out where it starts and ends before we end up on the wrong road
