Central heating boiler

I've just read the instructions for the central heating boiler in the house I'm moving into and there's no timer of any sort to switch the heating on and off.
Surely this isn't normal?
I've not had central heating before but I thought you could set it to go off at night or if you are out?

Our timer is not part of the actual boiler, so wouldn't be in the boiler manual. Our timer is on the wall in the kitchen.

I have a Vaillant boiler as well and the timer is separate as well. There may be a different manual for that.
Mine is through Hive but prior to that we had a wall mounted wired in one

Mine is in the Hall as that area is cold so I wanted that area to be the part of the house that set the standard.

I've searched the entire house. There's a temperature control in the hall but no timer of any sort

have you looked at the boiler it may be fitted directly on the control panel of the housing

No because that was my mom who died. Like most elderly people she had it on 24 hours a day

When was it fitted? It’s a legal requirement to have time and temperature controls, but that’s only been the case since early 2018.

When they moved in so 2011
