Xmas cake re gold ears

In effort to get my last gold ear I am going to post some threads that may or may not interest you. They will probably be a load of rubbish but if MH can get away with it. So here is the first thread.
Do you make your own xmas cake? If you don't where do you buy one from? I used to make one every year till about 20 yrs ago and then started buying one from M & S. It has to have the royal icing on though. Not fond of the fondant icing.

We don’t buy or make one. We wouldn’t eat it. We have dinner with our parents and they have one.
I made one at school though and I do remember it being quite nice.

Make my own but I’m partial to a bit of Aldi’s cheap Christmas Cake bar just had some with some Stilton cheese as part of a ploughman lunch

Made my Christmas cake this year, didn't bother last year. I do like it as long as its not got loads of nuts in it and some cherries. I looooooovvvve marzipan and have bought two packs (so I have spare ). Not covered it yet, its sitting wrapped up in a tub. Praying its okay lol.

I buy the slices. It’s only me that likes it, and to be honest I’m even sure I do like it! It’s just become tradition now 😂.

I'll usually make one as DH loves any type of cake, I'll buy one this year as I've forgotten to make one!
