Alaska Aug 2018

Hi,

i'm thinking of booking a cruise for August 2018, and wanted the collective knowledge on this... how cold is it? is there any chance a normal sane person would use the pool on this cruise? what are the 'must do's'? who has everyone sailed with for their Alaska cruise and how would you rate them?

thanks - all info welcome!

August is apparently ok in Alaska, although it can rain at a moments notice. We're going in May and have been told layers are key to a successful holiday.

We're cruising with Disney and they heat their pools, so I'd have no problem swimming personally.

Our excursions (all DIY) are:
Juneau: Harv and Marvs whale watching
Ketchikan: Floatplane to Prince of Wales island to see black bears
Skagway: Helicopter to ice field and dog sledding

Costing us a bomb, but doing DIY has saved us around $600-800 all told.
