Laundry?

Does anyone know what coins are needed for the washing/drying machines onboard? I must remember to take some with me!

Also - any idea of the aprox cost of getting items laundered through room service? I am going to wear the same dress for Formal night & Palo and may need it cleaned if youngest DD manages to cover me in 'sticky hands' which is her usual trick!

Sorry I don't remember how much it was but you just reminded me that I had to ask a fellow passenger which was the detergent, and which was the softner, in the coin operated dispenser, since they were US brands, and the two options were not labelled

As we had been doing laundry in our villa before we left for the cruise, I meant to make a note to bring our own next time - it would have been cheaper and less embarrassing (I had thrown my villa stuff away ...not thinking ! )... so thanks again for reminding me

Hi there,

The machines use 25 cent pieces (quarters) I take my own lenor/commfort with me as the US stuff doesn't soften the laundry enough and my own stuff cuts down on the ironing

Can't remember the price of room service laundering but if it's just a couple o things then it shouldn't be too bad but if your thinking of sending lots of stuff then DIY is cheaper.

Another thing about doing laundry is the rooms are small so try and go when it's less buisy, we found later in the evening or if your not going ashore on a port day to be good. As the machines don't take long compared to ours at home it doesn't take hardly any time at all

Hope this helps

I'd definatley go with having things laundered if you don't have too many. We had all MArk's 'good' shirts laundered as soon as we boarded, they were ready the next day and cost just a couple of dollars each, well worth saving me the hassle of washing/ironing!

I think it is $2 in quarters for a wash load and the same for a box of power from the machine and the same again for the tumble drier, usually you can get change from the hotel reception
