Avis stay with Group W or go for Group S?

I have booked a Group W with Avis, showing as Ford Edge. On the pricing for the fly drive deal a Group S Chevrolet Traverse is showing as a few Pounds more. There will be 4 of us and probably 4 cases. It is a bit confusing on BA site as Group S are shown as 5 passengers but Traverse appears to be 7 seater. Don't know if S is roomier, better featured etc. Just after a bit of advice whether to just stick with W or upgrade to S.

Class S is Elite SUV - for a few ££'s more I'd book that without hesitation - there will be more luggage room and more toys!
It will use a little more fuel than the Std SUV.

Update.

Just spoke to BA and the actual upgrade cost is a lot more, so I'll stick with the Group W.

I was very surprised when you said only a few pounds more - it's usually a lot more for Group S - Ford Edge or equiv will be fine - I have never looked at it, but apparently Avis also have a swap row for Avis preferred.

Thanks.

I put in a new flydrive for same dates and the difference berween W and S for whole booking was £30 odd.

When I phoned the actual cost to upgrade was over £350.

You could always try having a good haggle with the desk clerk - but generally S much more expensive. Anyone looking to book an S class just now could get a bargain.
When I was checking earlier in year - Chevvy Tahoe - which I think is below S was over £700 for 2 weeks.

Thanks for suggestion.

I think I'll be fine with W, just got a bit excited.

We thought the same. We have a F class and I looked yesterday and the difference for a W class was about £25. We phoned the actual price was £££ more!

I think that's what we had when I first booked. I then phoned the next day I think and upgraded to a W for £100 or so.
