Alton Towers Hotel?
Apologies if not the right place to post - please direct me otherwise.
Has anyone been? Would you recommend? Hotel or lodges (splash landings not available on the day we want to stay). Plan is to do theme park Saturday (and maybe water park?) and then early hours theme park Sunday followed by water park? Any thoughts on this? |

The Alton towers hotel is nice but not as fun as the Splash landings hotel. We prefer the resturant in Alton Towers hotel.
if you mean the lodges in the forest they look really nice and quiet and the resturant is good as well. They have free events for the kids to play. Early morning entry is really good and you can get a good few rides done before the gates open. |

We have been in the new lodges. Yes they are nice but overpriced IMO

We stay in Alton Towers Hotel most years. We really like it, have never fancied Splash Landings. The lodges look lovely but have never stayed in them.

Thanks all. If you stay how do you organise your two days? - as in timings of different aspects, not where do you book

We have done splash landings and alton towers hotel and much preferred the latter. We haven't stayed in the lodges but did walk over to the restaurant there and they look ok but I think I would still pick the hotel.

We have stayed at the Alton towers hotel and got upgraded on check in. No idea why but was glad of the quiet the locked off corridor offered. We were there at new year though so was really busy. We were on our way home from Scotland where we had been for Hogmanay. The fact that you could walk along the internal walkway to splash landings and the pool was a bonus

We stayed st the altons towers hotel because it was a little cheaper then splash landings, it was comfy enough, a little walk from the park monorail, but I believe there is also another entrance for hotel guests,
I usually stay in a travel lodge though (have done that a few times) and the location of the Alton towers hotel is second to none (if you've not been before, AT is literally in the middle of nowhere)

Stopped in both Alton Towers and Splash Landings. Prefer Alton towers, but eat at the splash landing restaurant. It's all you can eat buffet and a better choice for the kids. Last time we were there had a look round the new accommodation (enchanted village I think it's called) looks quite good especially the tree houses
