Anyone flying to Australia this summer? How much did you pay?
Hi All!
My brother and his family live in Brisbane. I'm hoping to visit next summer. (2A DS (12) and DS (9) ) I'm a teacher so have got to travel within school holiday time and obviously this puts prices up quite a bit!😩 I just wondered what prices people have managed to get flights for. I have the usual flight comparison apps on my phone which I check but just not sure what a good price is. Having seen the prices that have been coming up so far it's looking like it might be 2019. I guess I'm reluctant to pay all that money just for flights.. |

I am not going but we did think about it. Prices for Perth were coming up around 750 euros each for July/August.

Do you know who that was with? Perth is where we want to go, and I had been thinking it would be nearer £1000 each.

It was with Turkish (via Istanbul) to Singapore and then Malindo to Perth. I flew Turkish last year to Kuala Lumpur and they were good!

We've just been to Perth for the school Easter holidays (Sat out, Sunday home) with Emirates from Newcastle. Prices released at around £1000pp then dropped after a couple of weeks and I got 2 adults, 2 children for £2328. Just back today and couldn't fault Emirates, they were excellent.

My son went to Sydney via Dubai and stopped over at Thailand in Sept came back October. He flew back from Melbourne via Dubai onto Heathrow on the way back. He paid £800 but there were flights from £700 ranging to £1,000. He went with Qantas and Emirates who code share and the flights were lovely and had empty seats and nice food,
These were with netflights x

Last few times I've flown to Australia I've used Emirates and I agree they are fantastic. The last time we went though my youngest was only an infant and didn't have a seat so that reduced the cost a bit.
We have a surprise holiday booked at Christmas to Finland so that is affecting funds so it's looking like it might be summer 2019. |

Did you find it doable for 2 weeks? I've always ruled it out as I didn't think it was long enough, but for that price I might have to reconsider.
