we get the train and stay at the Radisson Blu. it's so easy as the airport station is at the terminal, get off train, take lift and walk indoors to the hotel. next morning it's about a 5 min walk in the terminal to departures. all inside so no worrying about shuttles or getting wet!

We get the train and stayed at the Hilton last year, got the shuttle from terminal 1 to the hotel & back again the following morning.

This year we're staying at the Raddison Blu so no need for shuttle bus. Price wise they were about the same for one room - 2 adults & 1 child.

hello

me has extensively looked at this...

here are you options

closest

Rad Blu - sky link to stations and terminals - problem - us a family of 5 we need a suite £344 or 2 linked room £280 - for 1 night (checking in at 10.30pm and out at 7am - I think not baby puppy). This is great if only 2 or 3 of you.

Clayton
Crowne
£125 - 140 fam room - good reviews - 2nd/3rd closest to airport will allow a 3yo as an extra in the room.

Hilton (not sure about - only one I didn't phone!)

HIExpress - wont allow 5 in room £95

Premier Inn - Runger N&S - will allow 5 in room £75 ish.

Marriott - this is interesting - they do DAY ROOMS - £68 9 to 5pm - handy for return visits, also will allow 5 and have Onsite parking. Rooms in same bracket as clayton.

Airport Inn, Britannias OMG what shocking reviews they have. we are not fussy but will not risk staying here - cheap yeah but...

That's our preference as well.

I believe you can get breakfast included on some room-rates, but we normally prefer to get through security and eat airside.

We are going by train this year for a change and have booked the premier inn at Heald Green for £31. It is right next to the train station and is the stop before the airport. You can get the train the next morning it takes 4 mins to airport or you can get a taxi for £6.

We will get breakfast at the PI, it is £8.99 each and 2 kids eat free with per adult.

We stayed at the Clayton Hotel last year. It was a five/ten minute walk from Terminal 1. The hotel offered a free transfer. We had breakfast in the hotel before we headed over to the airport but we had done sundown check in the night before so we just needed to go straight through security. We had a lovely stay.

I'd love to try the Radisson but ever time I look at prices it's over £300. The Clayton was £200 cheaper.
