To get between the islands use the Vaparetto boats - the water bus service. Gondolas are SO expensive.

Do not eat or drink in St Mark's Square unless you have tons of money!

Stand up to drink coffee, much cheaper.

Don't ask for a latte, it just means milk!

We did the food tour with a very happy guide who got free drinks every place we went!

Pizzeria Rosa Rossa - looked like a scrappy little place but the pizza was amazing.

I'll be honest and say we found the whole Venice experience interesting and so glad we went BUT, it will be a one off for us.

Go and enjoy it and absorb the experience because it is probably the most unique place you'll ever go to.
