5 hours in London

I am off to a meeting in London in June

It will finish at 2.30 in Finsbury Sq in the city and my train from Kings Cross is 19.30 so I am looking for suggestions as to what to do other than shopping to get a bit of culture or see something different

What day of the week are you visiting? Some of the museums and galleries have late night openings one day a week - often a Friday. Even on a normal day they are open until 5:30 or 6pm so you have plenty of time to soak up some culture.

It is light until almost 10pm in June so any outside sight seeing will be OK then too.

What sort of things do you like to do?

I would walk down to the river and pop into the Tate Modern and wander along the South Bank.

You can have your photo taken at kings cross. We waited about a hour but it was quite entertaining As the staff were great.

We love the Skygarden. It is free and just lovely, you can grab a coffee or even some bubbles and sit on a sofa looking over the Thames. They have a website and you need to book the tickets on line before you go (I think you need to book early as tickets go quite quickly.) it's approx a 5min walk from Monument Tube station and about a 20 minute walk from Borough Markets (they are also worth a visit for all the amazing food!) 😊

In the city suggest Leadenhall market aka Diagonally! some shops and restaurants there.
Museum of London is not far from the city or down to the river by the tower of london, nice atmosphere and lots of people watching!
