Disney Cruise Transfer Options
I have just booked a Disney Eastern Caribbean Cruise for October 2008 and am so exicted .
I was just wondering what type of transfer the other dibbers have used from the airport to the cruise ship and what they would recommend. We sail on the Saturday but I don't think the proposed flights would land on time for the Saturday sail so I was considering flying on the Friday and having an overnight in Orlando. Advice please on the transfer to the cruise. Frances01

We have booked our limo transfers with Quicksilver. They have a very good reputation on these boards and worked out less expensive than expected and less hastle than the other option.
P.S. I've added you to our list of who is cruising.

We have rented a car with Budget via USrentacar (site sponsors ) - great deal !
We have a week beforehand in Orlando, then we are dropping the car off at the Budget depot in Port Canaveral (free shuttle to ship) to save parking costs over the week. Picking it up again on our return, then 2 more days in Orlando, before dropping it back at MCO. Usrentacar charge no extra for these 2 'one way' rentals, plus we booked as 2 separate bookings, and used their promotion code, to get an extra £5 off each, rather than combining the order in one booking. Another couple of options would be to rent a car and book a hotel the night before in Port Canaveral, that has free cruise ship parking and shuttle to ship... or pay for DCL parking at $12 per day at the terminal.

I'd been wondering what people do with their car during the 7 night cruises, seems silly to just 'Park' it & waste the money. Not so bad when only 3 nights but much better idea to drop it off & start again after cruise, Thanks jdybnsn!

Rylisal - that's what I thought too. I thought about hiring the car for the two week holiday but it seems silly to pay for two weeks and only use it for one week.

I agree Frances, we were going to keep our car for the week we were on the cruise but decided with the car park charges etc it wouldn't be economical. On previous cruises we've stayed overnight at the siport Hyatt which is the fab hotel on site at MCO, and then got a town car (Happy Limo or Quicksilver) to take us to the port early Saturday morning. Alternatively you could stay at a hotel in Port Canaveral and use their port shuttle on the Saturday.
Last week we dropped our rental car off the day before we sailed, and got a limo to take us to the port, for a bit of luxury
