Travellers cheques on the Magic?

We are hoping to keep a certain amount of money aside for port adventures and other costs. I believe you can't pay for port adventures in advance, is that right?

If so, can you pay with travellers cheques on the ship?

It might be helpful for us to have this money separate from our FairFx card, to help us budget.

They will change up your TCs on the ship, but your rate may not be great. You would then pay the cash to your on board account.

Can do same on Fairfx yes.

never having been on cruise, let alone a Disney Cruise, do we pay on-board on a per item basis ( eg a beer and cocktail at the bar ) or it is charged to room and then settled at end of trip ?

Welcome to the cruise forum

Everything on board a Disney ship is charged to your room (you have a card that you show). You can go to guest services and check on your account 24/7 and pay towards it if you wish. Most people register a credit card to the account when doing online check in
and in that case, DCL will take the money from your cc a couple of nights before the end of your cruise.

You will get a full statement put under your door at death o'clock on your last night!

We used dollar traveller cheques on the magic in October. No problems.
